ACP’s Innovation in Aviation workshop 2018 with Ministry of Civil Aviation on Friday, 2nd November 2018 at Hotel – The Oberoi, New Delhi
US-India Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP) http://us-indiaacp.com/, a unique bilateral public-private partnership recently organized its annual “Innovation in Aviation” workshop with key Indian and US stakeholders and policymakers. In the presence of the Indian Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and senior leadership from MOCA, AAI, DGCA, and BCAS along with representation from US FAA, USTDA, FCS and State, several ACP member companies including Aireon, Astrophysics, Boeing, Battelle, Honeywell, Hypershift, L3, L&B, Lockheed Martin and United Technologies, showcased their latest innovative technologies, services and products to address immediate and future needs of civil aviation in India.
Recognizing India’s continuous rise on the World Bank’s “Ease of Doing Business” survey (in five years from 132 to now at 77) US companies are looking to invest and benefit by supporting sustainable and profitable growth of India’s civil aviation, providing specialized aviation skill development and offering solutions to related industries such as Hybrid AirShips for Cargo, UAV (drones), AirTaxi etc. Aviation in India supports 7.5 million jobs and contributes about US$30 billion annually to India’s GDP. According to IATA 158 million people traveled to/from/or within India in 2017, this number is expected to treble to 520 million by 2037. India has an order of approximately 1000 new planes to be delivered by 2026. Targeting opportunities arising from this significant growth potential for the civil aviation industry and matching this momentum will also create challenges for the airline fraternity, industry partners and policy-makers. To overcome these challenges ACP member organizations can add value with solutions “Getting the Right Work Done” for the civil aviation ecosystem including actionable strategies and technologies.
